I am very excited to bring you today’s post which includes a tremendous video contribution from Joe Sansalone and Christine Norris of Optimum Performance Training Institute.
Following an earlier post in which I explored current research on the pros and cons of the kettlebell swing, I reached out to Joe for help.
I asked if he would be kind enough to take time out of his busy schedule coaching and teaching to give a kettlebell swing video tutorial, as a follow-up to Big doors on little hinges swing, and being the true class act that he is Joe was only too happy to oblige.
Joe is not only one of the most knowledgable and dedicated guys in the industry but also uncommonly proficient in the many uses for the kettlebell, as a Certified Level II Russian Kettlebell Instructor (RKC2) and Kettlebell-Functional Movement Specialist (CK-FMS). Christine has also joined the ranks of the RKC recently becoming a Certified Instructor so you can rest assured, the information provided is of the highest quality.
This astonishingly detailed 4 part instructional video examines the many components to the kettlebell swing including alignment and positioning, movement sequencing, skill development and corrective drills for common technique faults, and start and finish sequencing and safety. Each of these topics are further broken down with incredible depth into sub-components, covering everything you need to know about how to perform the kettlebell swing safely and correctly.
Big thank you to Joe and Christina for putting this together!
